Royal Silk compiled this outstanding record in only 3 years as a special. He started at 2 years old at Westminster Kennel Club in 1998 by receiving an Award of Merit. His 20 All Breed Best in Shows were earned in his last 1 1/2 years of showing as a Special. Roy retired at the Westminster Kennel Club in 2000 after receiving a Group 2.

Roy was brought out as a Veteran at the 2006 STCA National Specialty by Shauna Jones & Barbara Beissel. He was expertly handled by Barbara. When Roy and Barbara entered the ring the cheering began as did the tears for many of us. Some because they knew Roy from his earlier show days and for others, like myself who are fairly new to the world of Silky Terriers, because we were seeing this beautiful dog for the very first time. Many of us have Roy sons, daughters or grandchildren -- as his progeny is abundant. We look forward to watching his legacy live on for many years to come.

This page is dedicated to Roy and his performance at the 2006 Silky National Specialty. Roy is an outstanding example of our breed and was a true delight to watch in the show ring.
